For many of you who have very little ram, when you disable the visual graphics and effects you will see a large increase in performance because it will free up these extra windows resources. The Windows XP operating system comes with a recommended amount of memory of 512 megabytes, so if you are running around this amount, it is a good idea to disable these graphics and effects to get the most out of your computer as possible.
