This video will show you how to create a registry key in your registry that will disable a non essential background process running in your computers operating system. The last access update timestamp exists in your system for updating reporting services in the background of Windows Vista. For those of you who never use these reporting services (which is most of you) – you will find this service completely useless to you. That is why it is a good idea to disable it for all of you who don’t need it.

Registry Location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem

Registry Key:
NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdateTimestamp (DWORD 32-Bit)

Desired Value:
1
