I often hear the statement "Man! I remember when my computer was brand new, it used to run so fast! Things used to be easier to do and I wasn't sitting around waiting for this thing to load programs!"
It is, of course, true that if you don't take care of your computer – it is going to eventually start to slow down due to the extra installations and applications that will start on startup. However, many people do not consider another factor that comes into play when it comes to computer speed… themselves.
I am pointing this out because many people take the "speed" for granted on a computer and assume since they are waiting on it, the computer has started to slow down. In some cases this is true, but in other cases, it is entirely possible that you have actually gotten more efficient and faster WITH your computer, and the computer itself hasn't actually changed it's speed.
This will become most apparent immediately after you completely optimize your system and it still seems like it is running slow. What really happens is you get faster and more efficient with opening and managing multiple applications so naturally, the original speed increase you paid for has actually slowed down to you.
Of course, for those of you who haven't optimized your systems to get the most out of them, I have a free video series that walks you through step by step how to optimize your computer. In fact, I have a video series for each of the popular Windows operating systems.
You can learn to optimize Windows XP performance in the Faster XP series. Or, for those of you who have Windows Vista, you can learn to optimize your Windows Vista performance in the Faster Vista series. For my most recent guide, you can also learn to optimize Windows 7 performance in the Faster 7 series.
Enjoy!
