So I was chosen for the Star Wars: The Old Republic beta test over the weekend (and the one two weeks prior) and I got to immerse myself in Bioware's rendition of the Star Wars universe… I must say… it terrified me.
This game basically emcompasses every weakness I have in a videogame. Character depth, building, decision making, story, gear collecting and… most of all… STAR WARS. I mean, who doesn't want to swing a light saber or get all tickled when the thought of using force throw on someone is possible.
In the few hours I played SWToR, I was hooked. I found myself falling in love with the character I was starting to develop, his personality, not just his looks and gear, begun to come to the forefront… and I hadn't even gotten my lightsaber yet!! The only other game that was able to do this was Bioware's first KoToR… I mean, making us wait for a Lightsaber?! AHHH! But totally worth the wait when you get there.
So here is the problem, this game has an overall story-arc for EVERY SINGLE CLASS… I mean, how am I ever going to get anything else done?! Or play any other games… EVER?! I am going to want to make it through the entire story of each class, I can tell you that right now.
So I know I was cliche going for the Jedi first time around, but I couldn't help myself… but I played the other classes and believe it or not… some of them were MORE FUN than playing a Jedi. Seriously? How is that possible? I love you Bioware, and I hope I don't fall off the face of the earth when this game comes out. I have videos to make!
Anyone else get the beta?
