What is your opinion on the Blu-Ray? Worth the extra cash or no?  Just curious…

I don't have a blu-ray player, but I know there are advantages and disadvantages of getting one.

In short, if I had the money (and if I needed one), I would buy one. Smile

Yeah, I've got the PS3 to avoid the firmware issue (since it does automatic firmware updates through WiFi) – I usually recommend it as the best BluRay player because they haven't released all of the features associated with Blu-ray technology yet.  So unless you want to do firmware updates on your player and deal with those headaches, PS3 is the way to go.

I absolutely love the resolution difference on the newer movies, the older movies you will not notice a huge difference.  Many videos released after 2006 or 2007 I'd say you see a substantial difference (that was when many directors started shooting in digital HD)

Ill probably buy a PS3 in jan, only thing i dont like about the slim is it has no backwards compatability.

Although i have heard rumors of it being implemented in a software update.

Yeah I have a blue ray player as well. It is the Sony Playstation 3 model.

I heard somewhere that it plays video games, but I really haven't found any evidence to prove it.

lol.  Metal Gear 4? Awesome. Uncharted? Good. Infamous? Pretty sweet.  There's some good ones out for it.  Plus, dragon age looks much better on PS3 than X-Box, but no gamerscore points!! Also, you can't talk to your friends on live!

I would much rather play a game that is on both systems on the 360.

I though MGS4 was terrible to be honest. It just didn't feel right to me. I would much rather play Sons of Liberty of Snake Eater.

The PS3's Blu-Ray is still rated one of the best out there….

so it doesn't really surprise me that Dragon Age looks much better on the PS3 then on the X-Box 360… but the X-Box IS better at general gaming, and X-Box Live is just da bomb.
