Preliminary reviews put it at 77% on rotten tomatoes, but I'm a huge Post 80s Robert Downey Jr. Fan – I mean, come on, Ironman, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Tropic Thunder, Good Night and Good Luck – it's like the guy turns movies into gold these days.

The previews make me apprehensive – it seems far to action based for a character that is supposed to be solving a mystery – but I suppose I can't let that stop me.

Everyone elses thoughts?

I don't know…  it looks okay, but when I heard they were making a Sherlock Holmes movie with RDJ, I was hoping for something less Guy Ritchie-like.  Oh well.  PS:  Sherlock Holmes and Watson are the original Shawn and Gus.  Its either this or Avatar, and I imagine this will be more fun and less "look how bad humans are!"

I went and saw this and was pleasantly surprised.

Robert Downey Jr. was brilliant, of course, and it looks like Guy Ritchie (the director) struggled with some more fantastical ideas he had on the action and special effects side.  I believe his imagination exceeds his talent when it comes to special effects right now. It came together as a pretty good movie.  I'd give it a 8 out of 10.

i think the movie was trying too hard with all of the action.  sherlock holmes is supposed to solve the crimes with his brain not brawn. however the movie was pretty good.

any thoughts on an underlying theme in Avatar being a tie to the war in Iraq.  both having powerhouses trying to "liberate" the natives but instead only wanting their resources?

Sherlock Holmes was alright, nothing I'd see again though. It was funny in some parts, and entertaining in others, but boring in some as well. I'd probably give it 3.5 Stars, maybe 4… I'm picky though.

Creg, please make the signature limits higher! Thanks!

Great to hear that so many of you thought that it was at least good.  I'm definitely going to have to see it when it comes out.  Even more exciting than that, its good to hear from someone else who loves the show Psych!

Yeah well, Psych is only the greatest and bestest show in the entire world.

I've also been watching News Radio on Netflix… MAN that show was great!
