This usually means something else on your system is using port 80. Most likely it is Skype, if you have Skype installed, shut it down and try to restart apache.

Why don't you try its alternative like AMPPS. It is good as xampp.

OR

Try running httpd.exe from bin folder of apache in command prompt. And paste a error message here. We might be able to help.

I also discovered an interesting solution to this the other day. I will likely put a video together going over all of the ways to troubleshoot Apache Start issues.

The only way I was able to resolve it in the end was to install the Visual C++ 2008 32-Bit Redistributable Package or the Visual C++ 2008 64-Bit Redistributable Package – it worked out great. Apparently there were some missing Windows DLL files that are installed when this package is installed.
