This video shows you how to disable your background desktop wallpaper to free up system memory which in turn will make your computer run faster. This tip is especially useful for individuals who have a computer with very little system memory. The larger the desktop wallpaper image being used as your background, the more system memory it will occupy while you perform certain tasks. This is an extremely easy fix that has been used for quite awhile. Another important thing to remember is, if you have experience in image optimization software such as GIMP, Fireworks or Adobe Photoshop, you can load the background desktop wallpaper into an image editor and optimize it to be a smaller image.
