We’ve completed the Hello World! main series, now we will discuss various stand alone speed up tips. This one goes over disabling automatic windows updates and notifications in windows xp and doing it manually. It is considered a speedup because it will prevent windows from interrupting your normal workflow.

Important Notes to Take From This Lesson:

  1. Windows updates notifications are annoying
  2. Disabling windows updates notifications is easy
  3. Don’t disable windows update unless you are going to do it manually
  4. Windows update manager is stored in C:/windows/system32/wupdmgr.exe
  5. This update manager will automatically use Internet Explorer instead of your default browser
  6. Add windows update to your monthly maintenance schedule
  7. Malwarebytes anti-malware will try to re-enable your notifications on scan
