In today’s video we will discuss disabling performance counters that are monitoring windows system data in the background of your computer. The perfomance counters were primarily used to gather data for use in the perfomance viewer in the administrative tools of your control panel. When we disable these performance counters, we will no longer be able to monitor the selected windows system data, but most of you don’t use the performance monitor in the administrative panel anyways – so it is not a terrible loss. Apparantly, these performance counters also run in the background when you are not using the trending utility.
