Seeing as how the business cycle (cyclical economic fluctuation) has been historically explained by sunspots [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunspots_(economics)] , there may be reasonable cause for confidence that shooting expensive space shit into the sun will stimulate the economy.
